Backpain - treatment - Traditional Medicine therapies

Usually only these therapies try to fix the cause of this disease, the bad, unsuited shape of the spine.

Spinal manipulations are the most commonly used, osteopathy, chiropractic, physical therapy or physiotherapy, the Chinese version called Tuina, the Japanese version called Yumeiho, etc.. Even traction tables can be included here, being also a form of spine manipulation.

These will, with luck aand skill from the practioner, restore the normal shape of the spine.

However, it is not good to use spinal manipulation during the acute aggravated periods, because the increased inflamation and muscular contracture will act as obstacles for the manipulations.

Acupuncture and cranio sacral therapy can however be used without restrictions during acute periods, and have the same benefits as the rest.

Now, there is a also trick to all these. Even if a skilled therapist will be able to restore the proper shape to your spine, it will never be as good as new, it is not possible, and it will not keep that proper shape forever.

The reason is that when you try to bend something, first time is the the hardest, after that it becomes much more easier. Let say it took you 5-6 years of using poor to bend your spine for the first time and have spine problems, unfortunately the second time it will take less time, let s say 2-3 years (figures are relative, of course. The fact that with age the spine is loosing its flexibilty is another added factor.
